Our group has had a few out of the normal absences lately, and Joan has demonstrated extraordinary flexibility and sensitivity to the demands of the work flow. She has covered for people working on other journals and she takes initiative to involve herself in the many small tasks that make up the big picture of our frequently crazy work day. I'm sure you know what a relief it is to be able to trust a colleague's work. It is very reassuring to me that I can depend on Joan.
